Back from the dead

Well,

I migrated my other site, dubea.com, from GoDaddy to 1and1 which hosts dubea.org.

Yes, exciting isn’t it? GoDaddy had changed the terms of agreement and was is no longer going to provide simple registration any longer.  They now seem to require a hosting package with their domain registrations.

As I am already paying for a hosting package at 1and1, I decided to migrate dubea.com to that package.

It was pretty easy, except GoDaddy put a lock on the domain when I applied for an authorization number. I had to call them to release the lock. I guess they wanted to make it a little more difficult.

Anyway it’s done. Presently, I’ve got a redirect from dubea.com to dubea.org until I figure out what I’m going to do with it.

I got dubea.com properly configured so the image URL’s I’ve been putting all over the place work just as before! Yay no broken links.

This blog has been pretty much out of sight and out of mind. I’ve resisted the urge to get heavily into WordPress so I can arrange this as I want. Perhaps I will change that.

And then there is the issue of I really don’t know what I want to do with this site. Unfortunately I have many things going on in my life.  Perhaps too many.  Dunno. That will be the topic of the next post.  Maybe I’ll see if I can figure out how to turn on the comments.

And to the drogues that have been trying to enter junk comments and attempting to log-in, you’ve been pretty effectively blocked thus far. So you might as well find another website to try and hack.

cheers

Yikes!

Ouch.

Boy I am really not doing well with this. My apologies.  I’ve been über busy and just have not had the opportunity to post anything.

I’ll “try” to do better….

Blog-us Interrupt-us

Well,

Sorry for the gap. Just got back from a 3 week jaunt overseas for work and really didn’t have the opportunity post.

My sleep hours are still confused. Last time it took me several days to acclimate. I had done okay the previous two nights, but last night I didn’t take a melatonin and that was a mistake. Woke up at midnight and didn’t go back to sleep until 3. Woke up, and got up, at 5:30. Oh well at least I’ll get a lot done today.

My daughter Meghan bought a house and its moving day. It will be busy, but once again, Melanie and I will be empty nesters.

I’m still learning WordPress and the ins and outs thereof. Lot’s here to get my head around. So stay tuned, my plan for this blog is to make it a sort of photo showcase. I’m looking at different themes that make sense, both technologically and artistically.

Cheers

We’re here in beautiful Perdido Key, FL getting some R & R after a busy spring. It’s the first time since the week before Katrina that the four of us (me, Melanie, Jourdan & Meghan) have been on vacation together.

We’ve got the beach arrangements set up and have had our first beach excursion. After lunch we ventured out to the grocery store to get supplies for week.

My most excellent brother in law, David brought two ice chests of crawfish from Baton Rouge last night. We ate ourselves silly. The one thing I miss in Northern Virginia is crawfish. Thanks Dave, you’re the best.

I’ve got a little bit of time this week so I’ll be playing with the blog a bit so stay tuned.

Chris
